Inntel’s
IT system is based around Microsoft server technologies.
SQL 2000 is used to manage their database which
has recently been migrated from SQL 6.5. A key advantage
of SQL 2000 is the ability to analyse operational
data using OLAP(Online Analytical Processing) allowing
Inntel to identify trends that can be used to increase
efficiency to clients, while offering key information
when negotiating with suppliers.
A bespoke Microsoft Visual Basic application offers
Inntel a flexible and fast interface for their fifty
internal staff, while an ASP and COM based web site
offers a flexible “Extranet” to their clients.
Microsoft Exchange is used for communication and
group working allowing both remote and office based
users to share calendars and company information
where ever they are. |
